Pilatus Dragon

Project Details
Location: Lucern, Switzerland
Installed: 2019
A striking ten-meter-long, five-meter-wide dragon, designed by moveART, now graces the slopes of Mount Pilatus. Crafted from maintenance-friendly Accoya wood, the dragon features broad wings that rise skyward, symbolizing air and liberation. Positioned to face the valley, its head represents vision and foresight—while the entire sculpture offers a stunning backdrop for family photos.
Known as Draco Helveticus Pilatus or the “Dragon of Wishes,” the piece embodies moveART’s signature blend of playfulness, fun, movement, adventure, and art. This interactive sculpture celebrates the legendary connection between Mount Pilatus and dragons, inviting visitors to explore both its artistic presence and its playful possibilities.
